Two scrapbooks compiled by Ellison Adger Smyth, containing clippings on industry in upstate S.C. Earlier volume (1887, 1895-1905) contains news re cotton production, cotton mills, and especially Pelzer; also includes correspondence re laws and legislation affecting cotton mills written on Pelzer Manufacturing Company letterhead. Second volume (15 Mar. 1902 - 30 Jan. 1904) contains clippings re child labor in cotton mills.
